A dangerous place to be a child
Right now, children in Ukraine are facing the world’s worst humanitarian crisis. Years of brutal conflict have turned Ukraine into a war zone. Over 80% of the population are in need of help, including 6-7 million children.
The conflict has left over 6 million children out of school, robbing them of their futures. Health systems are on the verge of collapse and vast swathes of the population are on the move. The majority of health centres are running out of supplies and countless children are being subjected to bombing or homelessness.
Ukraine has surpassed Yemen as one the worst places on earth to be a child. Since the conflict began, an average of 3-5 children have been killed or maimed every day. No place in Ukraine is safe for children.
